Will my insurance cover GLP-1s?
The might. I will take a look at your entire health to determine if you have other conditions or codes that would give us the best chance for approval. My office will also handle the prior authorization paperwork if needed.
Are cash prices available for these medications?
Yes, these medications are available to be obtained even if you are not approved by your insurance. The pharmaceutical companies offer cash prices starting at $150 per month and up to $300-400 per month.
Are these medications safe? Are they compounded?
Yes, they are very safe. However, I don’t like to use compounding pharmacies if possible because there are too many unknowns. We are not sure where these pharmacies are getting these medications from. They are not from the original pharmaceutical companies. There are no guarantees what they are providing are safe nor are they regulated. They are not FDA approved. Cash prices from the pharmaceutical companies are cheaper or equal to what the compounding pharmacies offer.
My goal is to get you a safe medication, which is FDA approved, name brand, and from the original pharmaceutical companies.
What if I've failed other diets?
I will take a look at your entire health picture to ensure you are setup for the most success. I will investigate potential other causes which could be leading towards your inability to lose weight. I will help you setup the core foundations which are needed for weight loss. I can even refer you to a nutritionist who can further support your weight loss journey.
Can I actually lose weight?
Yes, with these medications and a complete lifestyle change including, diet and exercise, I can help you lose weight. We will also do this the right way, the healthy way.
How are these medications administered?
GLP-1s come in two forms. They come as an injectable medication typically given once every week. The injectable pens are very easy to use and I have demo pens in my office to walk you through how to use them. They also come in pill form which are taken by mouth daily.
